“A neighbor was using them, so we asked for a quote. We have used a few other tree service companies in the past and MGA has been the best so far! A big job and they did wonderfully breaking down a lot of brush and old trees in our backyard. On time, clean, professional. Cleaned up everything afterwards. Their trucks look brand new. They took extra measures for safety. A fair rate in comparison to other companies in the area. We will do business with them again for sure!”

“They were great. I had three other quotes, one from my existing gardener. The quotes ranged from $1800 to $2100. MGA came and gave me a quote of $450 and I thought they must have left off the 1 but I went ahead and singed the quote. They didn’t get back to me for about ten days, I thought they realized the error of their bid so I called them and they said “we’re really sorry, we’ve been caught up in a project and will be over tomorrow”. I needed to clear when I bid it out that the roots have to be hand-dug, that no poison could be used and everything had to be dug and carried out in a very, very small as in like a 20 by 50 lot with neighbors on either side so the tree couldn?t come over the house and the tree couldn’t come down to the side of the house. It all had to be manually chopped, manually dug out and manually brought out. I mean, it was really crazy so $2100 was probably a good bid. These guys were amazing and did everything that I asked them to do. The site was beautifully cleaned, there was no damage and consequently I ended up referring them to my neighbors and they did my neighbor’s work. So, they did amazing work and had amazing workers. They had like three trucks here, they had a chipper and they had a crane even though I told them they couldn’t crane over my house so I think they just brought it as a precaution. I give them high praise. I have referred them to other people too and would absolutely use them again. I don’t have a tree now to take down but yeah, I would.”

“I got MGA’s card on my door and while I am leery of using someone without references, I hadn’t yet joined Angie’s List and so I decided to get an estimate just to compare with others. MGA is run by a husband and wife, Rosa and Martin Martinez. Martin seems to understand English very well, but he doesn’t speak much. Rosa came out for the initial estimate and I spoke with her on the phone about the work and the bill. I don’t know where the company is actually located, because there’s no business address on their card and I paid them in person. I assume they are somewhere in Los Angeles. I live in Manhattan Beach. MGA is insured and that was important because they would be removing a huge 30-foot tree at the property line. I meant to get a certificate of insurance before they started work, but they called the next day and said they had a cancellation and their men needed to work. They gave me a better deal and started immediately. I had just bought a new house and was juggling plumbers and electricians when they showed up, and I never got the certificate. They used ropes to take down the 30-foot tree and worked carefully. They did not damage any other plants(they took some out and replanted them later)and they did not damage my patio, retaining walls or lawn. Their crew was first-rate, prompt, quiet and they worked really hard. I got much more than I paid for and felt a little guilty about the “better deal” that they gave me. Following their initial work, I gave them another good-sized job. We never had a contract or written estimate. They hauled away all the debris and saved the small trees to use somewhere else rather, than kill them. After the stump grinding(a hard and dirty job)there was very little sawdust on the lawn. Even after I gave Martin the final check, he returned to fix a couple of items. This was one time where taking a chance really paid off.”

“I called them up, they gave me a quote right away which was very reasonable and within my budget. Everywhere else I called said they could not trim my chinese elm tree till next week. These people know how to run a business with giving great customer service!  I appreciate a business that recognizes the importance of taking care of the customer with speed so kudos goes to MGA tree service!

4/25/17: update the guys just finished trimming the tree and it looks beautiful. I told him exactly how we wanted it and he did a great job. When I talked to him, he said he’s been trimming trees now for 16 years.  Thank you MGA tree service!”

“Had MGA return again and they showed up and showed off! Did a great job trimming large trees, overgrown pepper trees, oleander and the like. Professional, swift, fair-priced, insured and easy to work with. Trucks are clean, employees are dressed in corporate shirts, and they were friendly. I’ll call them again in a few years to cut it back again. Thanks!”
